Welcome to YoginiLove! My name is Alessandra Russo and I am a yogini who strongly believes in the healing powers of yoga. My relationship with yoga has evolved greatly over the last 20 years. What began as simply an exploration of movement has now become a study of the relationship between breath and movement, and how together they can support us on and off of the mat.
I teach a style of yoga that feels good in the body and heart. I ask my students to tune in and check in with themselves throughout the practice, simply noticing and allowing the sensations and feelings to flow through them. I combine elements of Hatha, Kripalu, and Vinyasa yoga to help move energy in the body.
My Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga classes aim to empower and support women physically and emotionally during and after their pregnancy. I also teach private and group Yoga for Labor & Birth workshops that teach expectant mom's and their birthing partners how to prepare physically and emotionally for the birthing process.
My passion for the healing arts led me to study Thai Yoga Massage, and since then I have helped clients release stress and anxiety, heal from old injuries, and become more flexible. I work on all body types, including expectant mothers and the elderly who may be bed ridden or have reduced mobility.
I received my 200 Hr YTT from Kripalu School of Yoga; my Prenatal, Postnatal and Yoga for Labor and Delivery YTT from Integral Yoga Institute; and finally I studied Thai Yoga Massage through Lotus Palm.

Yoga is for every body. I safely and effectively teach all levels of yoga to a range of ages and body types, and I specialize in Prenatal and Postpartum yoga. In my classes I combine mindful and meditative elements of Hatha & Kripalu yoga with playful Vinyasa flows.

Prenatal & Postpartum
My passion lies in helping expectant mothers prepare for both the physical and emotional changes that occur during and after pregnancy. My yoga trainings and my own personal experience as a mother of two young children help me relate to expectant mothers as they navigate this time of great change.
Prenatal Yoga offers the mother-to-be the opportunity to intimately connect with herself and baby. Guided meditations and breathwork reduce stress and anxiety, and specifically designed yoga sequences support you through the different trimesters and help prepare your body for labor and birth.
Postpartum Yoga can be done both with and without baby. This class is designed to support you emotionally and physically as you heal during the postpartum period. We address common issues such as pelvic floor recovery, diastasis recti, hip and back pain, and core strength recovery. You can safely attend classes 6-8 weeks postpartum.
YOGA FOR LABOR & BIRTH WORKSHOPS teach expectant mothers and their birthing partners how to move and breathe through labor. I work with you to best prepare you and your birth partner for whatever type of birth you envision, be it medicated or not, at home or in the hospital/birthing center. You will learn specific yoga postures, stretches and breathing techniques to support you through the various stages of labor. We will talk about contractions, pushing and breathing, pain management, & optimal birthing positions.

Thai Yoga Bodywork

Often called the "lazy man's yoga", Thai Yoga Bodywork consists of the practitioner guiding the client through a series of yoga postures, while palming and thumbing along the body’s energy lines and pressure points. Together this results in a complete full body treatment that relieves both physical and emotional tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and leaves the body energetically balanced.
Thai Yoga Bodywork is done on a Thai yoga floor mat, with both client and practitioner fully dressed in comfortable clothing for easful movement.
